My NaNoWriMo Plan for 2013

My NaNoWriMo Plan for 2013

First of all, I have three goals:
 1. Finish the Novella series I started NaNoWriMo 2011 called Driving Lies (Read below for details)

2. Finish two short stories I have been working on since before 2007: “He Said She Said” and “Darken Cake”

3. Work on Book 2 on my vampire series.

Extra things I want to do. . .

Edit: Book 1 Melzela and my paranormal book The Whispering Path

Normally in NaNoWriMo I would take an idea, create character profiles, outline in October and then in November write like crazy. However this year I am working on a project that been three year in the making. (It is actually is actually over ten years since this story idea started as a movie script I was writing in high school. I keep putting in on the back burner while I edit or write other pieces.) This makes me a rebel.

My muses and the characters have really made the story progress. . . first it was a script, and then it was an idea for novel with three parts that was written in two different perspectives. The novel eventually got too long, so I made into three novellas.

It is about a man with mechanical skills who takes his revenge on car accidents. He takes out those who get in his way. He destroyed most of Neve’s family, and when she found out it was him, she decided to get her own revenge.

My biggest goal is to finish the story Part 3, I just hope I get 50,000 words doing it.

My Review for the short story: “Killing Matt Cooper”

Title: “Killing Matt Cooper”
By John Cassian

It’s a suspenseful story of love vs. lust. It’s about a man trying to find a loving understanding: hoping to have someone accept who he is, who he really is. However after being denied, it creates a monster within his own darkness.

I believe this story demonstrated that we all have a dark side. I think some just express in physical ways. It just shows us what humans are really capable of doing.

The story kept me on the edge. I normally don’t like open ending, but I believed it ended open enough to allow me to use my imagination.

Extra notes: This story is rated X and has extreme sexual material and extreme violence.  There is some foul language. However the rating is more adult situations. This is not for the sensitive reader.

I give this story 3 ½ pages. . . The story kept me on my toes.

New Story Review Corner

I had an idea. . . I was thinking of making a small review corner on my writing blog. I have been reading the book The Marshall Plan for Novel Writing and it says to read my genre. However I have learned I write in several genres: Paranormal; Occult; Vampire; thriller; drama; and mostly Horror. My favorite authors are Anne Rice and Stephen King.

What I was thinking was to read short stories or pieces of novels and give them reviews on my blog. I thought that if maybe I review a few others, then others would see and they could review as well. When I ask for feedback, I want to know if my characters are likable, and relatable. I want to know if my story is actually interesting. As a story-teller and writer, I basically want to know am I really bringing written art to the world or am I just wasting time? I want to know if there are others who want to read my work.

Fellow Writers. . . what I need for a review

  1. Title
  2. Pen name (Name you are publishing with)
  3. A link to the title, e-mail, or place where others can get your work.
  4. Webpages or other way that other people can ask questions about your work

  • I want no more than 50 computer pages 8×11.  No more than 25,000 words
(If it part of a novel, then send me up 50 pages of most interesting part.)
  • You can add a picture. (No more than what wordpress allows, my blog is on word press)

This is how I plan to write my review.

  1. Title and author
  2. I want to write as little as one to two or as much as four to five sentences of summary.
  3. Then I will write some about the character/dialogue.
  4. Then I will write something about the storyline.
  5. Extra notes: if it made me emotional or I was able to relate. If it has adult material I would mention it here.
  6. Rating of 1to 5 pages. (5 pages is like 5 stars or a grade of an A.)
  7. Link to actual story.

Driving lies

Ten Interview Questions for The Next Big Thing: Rebekah Wolveire author of Driving Lies

What is the working title of your book?
My latest thrilling book is called Driving Lies.

Where did the idea come from for the book?
The idea was originally from a script I worked on high school, most of high school. I reread it and I liked the main idea, but then I realized that there was a lot of holes in my plot. I tweaked the plot, outlined it, and started to write for NaNoWriMo 2011.

What genre does your book fall under?
This book can fall under several categories such a murder mystery, thriller, and suspense.

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
Jake- Eric Balfour (Haven, 24); Penny (Jake’s ex-girlfriend)- Kaley Cuoco (The Big Bang Theory)
Neve- Britt Roberson (Cherry); Eric- Patrick Fugit (Almost Famous) Nick-  Taylor Kitsch (The Covenant)

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
Simple version: A man, Jacob Walters, snaps and strikes revenges with car accidents killing all his victims.

Complex version: Jacob Walters had a beautiful finances, great son, and good future, but he gambled it all way on a family. Once things started to crack, Jake to revenge the only way he knew how through cars.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
I want to publish, but I have a long road of editing first. I will get my 5 free copies from Create Space. I think I will put it on amazon or smash words. Keep up with this blog for the links.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
I still have yet to finish a few chapters on the last section, but I know have more that 150K so far. It’s been over a year.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
In some ways, I would like to think And Then There None (also known as Ten Little Indians) by Agatha Christie.

Who or What inspired you to write this book?
I don’t drive. I was hit by a car (hit and run) when I was 12 scouting a paper route, since then I’ve had nightmares of getting into car accidents in and out of the car. I thought if I wrote about car accidents it would help me to get over it, but it’s different when you put it on the page and you are on the road.

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
I write this book in two different perspectives and I rotate using their name at the top of each section. This way you see from the victim’s and murderer’s points of view.

Writing Update Half way through NaNoWriMo 2012

It is just about half time with NaNoWriMo. I have been writing two projects and I am trying to 50 k in both. (100K words together)

My vampire novel book1 of a seven book series Crimson Shadow Collection: Melzela: This is about a group of 75 vampire or so all got started. This is the story of the first vampire Melzela and her search for love and all the life lessons along the way. Total word count so far: 25,714 words
My suspense/ thriller murder story Driving Lies: It about a twisted man way of getting revenge using car accidents as his weapon. If he can have his way; they’re all gonna pay! Total word count so far: 23,402 words

Both projects total 49,116 (I am 884 away from 50K, half way.)

I took a day off, so I didn’t make my brain smell like burnt bacon. I took a break to day and went out, had some Subway. We also got some early Christmas shopping done.

I can’t believe how easy these books have come to me. (*Knock on wood* that the second half of NaNoWriMo is as easy as the first half).
Please let me explain about these projects. . . The novel, Melzela, I have been working on since 2008-2009 and I have so many notes that it feels like it just flows out of my head. It has been on the back burner and been stewing that the story has been screaming to come onto screen. (My muses yell at me for not writing it sooner.)
The novel, Driving Lies, was originally a movie script that I worked on in high school. I started it last year in NaNoWriMo, I got 50k, but I stopped halfway to edit another book. The story itself just to seem to haunt my brain until I did something about. I just let the characters drive my writing and they have giving me a few twists, but they have done really well so far.

My goals for tomorrow is at least 2k each.
Driving Lies total after tomorrow: 27k
Melzela total after tomorrow: 25k

My 2012 NaNoWriMo Projects

It is almost that time again. . . the time where I forget most of the world and work constantly on my writing projects. This time is known a NaNoWriMo. . . National Novel Writing Month. I’m excited as I have been waiting all year to lock myself up for several hours a day doing sprint after word sprint slowly allowing my story to come together.
I love it when my characters and my muses just agree, and I just allow the story to come to life. I appreciate my boyfriend being so patient with me during all of this and now this year he has idea and wants to work too. (Now I realized I will have to share the computer, so I will have to really schedule myself and use all the time I have with the computer very wisely.)

I am nervous and excited; I have to challenge myself to keep my writing with so many hours and I gave myself two projects. I am rebelling on both as I have already started writing on both, but I know I can get 50K on each project.

Project 1: Driving Lies, a thrilling novel I started last year about a murderer who kills off a family that ruined his life. I have about five chapters in Part 2 to finish and all of Part 3. However my outline from last year is so precise that I should be able to just dive into the deep end and start writing. (It started a movie script I wrote in high school.)

Project 2: The Crimson Shadow Collection: Melzela, is book one of seven in my vampire series. I have a huge story-line about a family of about 75 vampires. I feel you need to bring the horror, seduction, and the power back into the children of the night. (I have been working on this idea from the character sketches, outlines, and family trees since before the first Twilight movie has come out. I feel that NaNoWriMo is going to be that push to get at least one of the book finished. I wanted this book from page 1 to end on my computer before Dec 31, 2012 and if I play my cards right I will get it done a month early.)
