My Novel/Short Story Blog

This and That in April

Okay . . . I have just posted the review that I meant to post in January. It was a adult related book. I have realize something . . . I am adult (still being a kid at heart), but since I don’t have kids. . . I don’t have to worry about what I read or write as long as I post a warning.

(I am like three to four months behind on my book/story reviews. I hope to be able to get a few more in May, June, and July.)

April, I am working on a secret project in only a few people know about it. . . (NaNoWriMo Facebook group and the writers in my NaNo cabin.)

Three things about the new project. . .

  1. I will say this a good friend of mine is the inspiration for this.
  2. This is out of my comfort zone. This is not in my normal writing genre. I have been researching a lot for this.
  3. This project has the possibility of being something bigger if it works out for me.

As for my writing Review in April is going to be certain chapters of my friend’s (TrinityVampire83) fan-fiction. Growing up we wrote many things together, and she was one of people who saw my writing when everyone else saw my music. She was one of the first people to get me into the Anne Rice vampires.

Years have pulled us away, you know how that it is. . . life goes on. She works, goes to college, and then has kids, while I go to college and down my own path.

We got reunited again at a surprise party, that my very loving boyfriend had set up, and she tells me that she back into writing. She writes Marvel fan-fiction (her favorite is Loki). However she is a very talented writer with anything she wants to write. I want to help promote her work . . .

I know that it is not quiet April yet, but I have had her story sitting on my computer since Mid-Febuary so I am going to post a few reviews ahead of time. . .

Review The Invitation by Roxy Sloane

The Invitation

By Roxy Sloane © September 2014

Rate: NC-17 (Mature)

I normally read paranormal, thrillers, occult, mysteries, or drama. I haven’t gotten too much into the adult material, but this story was thrilling and dramatic. I also love the twist at the end. I enjoy that it is written in both perspectives. I feel it is something that both men and women can read.

This story is a mature titillating roller-coaster of tease and lustful whimsy.

Normally, I would push for more professional terms for adult pieces, but I like how straightforward this piece was. I feel like I could read it for what it was . . . two people crazy about each other allowing their playfulness get more intense as the night goes on. . .

I will tell you if you offended by lustful direct scenes that would make you blush if read in mix company than I would suggest reading it alone.

I think that Roxy Sloane got the lustful feeling and drives spot on.

I would rate this 4 ½ pages.

Favorite lines. . .

You’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all. Now get to it, scoot!

We stare hungrily at each other. In the dim light, his face is shadowed, but I can see the desire written all over his face.

Emotional Rollercoaster

It has been a while since I have written. I’ve had a bad case of writer’s block. I’m not sure what causes it, but I do know that I had have a hard time getting ideas to move from my brain to my fingers. I have so much just stuck in there. I feel like I have mental constipation. I know it sounds kind of gross and graphic, but it’s true. I have recorded a few things, but it has been hard to find a quiet enough time to just work thoughts out. I feel like I’m stuck in a room where I have everything, but what I need or want.

This was written February 25th, 2015

I have been through an emotional rollercoaster, and to protect those who went on this with me, all names will not be mentioned. (They know who they are.)

I guess what they say the emotional rollercoaster will come in my advantage. . . “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.” Or makes you stay in a bed fort getting boxed food for while. Or gives you motivation and inspiration. . . I think it has done all three. I think I will write more about it in my personal blog

Anyway, I am participating in Camp NaNo in April. I am doing a piece that is defaintly out of my comfort zone, but it has to do with what I went through in February-March. (All I have to say is that you will never die if you know a writer . . . you will live forever in their words.) I mentioned about it in the facebook NaNoWriMo group.

Now I am researching, and writing Flash Fanfiction. . . (I would mention about that on my personal blog—see link above)

I just applied for an at-home job, so I hope to get it. I know this means less time for writing, but I know I need to get my priorities straight. Tom and I want a house.
